Marketing Manager

We have a new role open for a Marketing Manager with at least two years of experience. Credit Union of the Rockies is a warm not for profit to work for. The purpose of this position is to develop the company's marketing strategy in accordance with the short and longterm strategic goals by studying economic indicators; tracking demand by company services; identifying customers and their current and future needs and monitoring the competition. Participate in the strategic planning and management of the financial institution. This position reports directly to the CFO and has no direct reports.


Ensures that marketing promotions meet or exceed set objectives through metrics and status reporting. Co-ordinates the development of branch marketing plans by working with branch managers, lending manager and card specialist to develop promotional and event plans. Achieves financial objectives by establishing objectives; developing budgets; controlling costs; maximizing use of assets. Ensure continuing analysis to measure any shortfalls to plan, identify applicable measures and develop specific marketing plans to improve results. Contributes to marketing effectiveness by working with the COO and CFO to identify short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action for the company's strategic marketing plan. Coordinate with the COO & Financial Analyst to formulate, implement, evaluate and administer the company's marketing analysis of member demographics and market research. Ensure that the marketing department is providing transparency, accountability, and data-driven research in pursuit of company business goals and objectives. Develops marketing knowledge and skill of front line and support staff by providing information, educational opportunities, and coaching on applicable topics. Represents the financial institution at external functions. Also serves as the company's representative on any strategic project implementation as designated. Ensure effective communication of marketing programs to all staff. Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.


Two to five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.


A college degree is required.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Other Skills

Ability to perform basic and complex financial calculations. Ability to interpret policies, procedures, regulations, and laws as it pertains to areas within your responsibility. Understanding and knowledge of Credit Union operations,business practices, products, services, philosophy and goals. Ability to read and write in English. Knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling rules. Ability to work under pressure with flexibility. Detail-oriented with the ability to coordinate a variety of activities and projects and simultaneously prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with minimum supervision. Must be a self-starter with the ability to perform detailed work accurately. Works well independently, as well as a team player. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Knowledgeable of computer system concepts and methods, and spreadsheet and word processing software programs using Microsoft products. Familiar with data entry. Using Windows in a network environment. Basic knowledge of filing systems. Basic knowledge of operation of office equipment, specifically: fax machines, copy machines, computer printers and 10 key adding machines.
